Prayer Ministries at River's Cross

Prayer is a continually living, expanding and learning experience for all Christians. We encourage all forms of God-centered prayer--intercession, warfare, liturgical, personal, healing, and especially pressing in closer to God. Only through fervent, consistent, and persistent prayer will “Revival” come to the church universal. This can only be achieved though our being willing to put aside our past experiences and assumptions of how the Holy Spirit can or will work and be completely open as to how He wants to act, and what He wants to say to us--total submission on our part.

Prayer is the rock-solid foundation upon which every church is based. All faithful followers of our Lord are invited to participate in the different prayer ministries at River's Cross. For schedules where appropriate, please see our schedule of services and activities. Prayer ministries include the following:

  • Weekly evening prayer - weekly God-centered time where we have learned to press in close to HIM as our focus and not upon our personal agendas. It is a time to listen to the Lord and follow His call upon each one of us.
  • Citywide intercessors - This is one of the long-term regional prayer groups in the area - meeting for several years and now meets in the Prayer Chapel. River’s Cross, the other members of the Mosaic, and members of many other churches and denominations in the Peninsula gather to offer pray for the region, city, our communities, churches and revival for the nation. It is a time for prayer warriors and intercessors to gather to reclaim our neighborhoods, cities, and the nation for the Lord.
  • Prayer-chain (through the church office) - personal intercession for our personal and public needs, healing, comfort, etc.
  • Regular Intercession during our services - interceding for our Sunday services, the rector, and the many people who assist in the services.
